Some say that the glass carboys are quite slippery when wet. So I thought that I'd remedy that by wrapping it with rope. I looked up a fish net knot and there we go. I have been wanting to make another wine kit recently, and the prices have come down again, so let's do it. My wife has asked that it be a white wine this time (something sweet and not dry). So... here'goes. 2/10/2010 - Day 6 : SG = 1.036 @ 60 degrees. 2/12/2010 - Day 8 : SG = 1.024 @ 60 degrees. It is just within the 1.010 - 1.020 range. I think that I'll rack it to the 6-gal tomorrow! For any of you interested, I have figured out how to tie my carboys in a way where the net comes off. I would consider selling them if you would like to have your very own carboy carrying net. 2/23/2010 - Day 19: SG = 0.998 @ 60 degrees. If it stays stable tomorrow, it's down to the 5-gal. Oh, and I get to add the fish guts (isinglass). Sounds like something out of The Lord of the Rings but it's basically a form...
