Ginger Ale... well...

This is ginger root. I had it in my fridge from a stirfry recipe. It makes a wonderful smelling kitchen when chopped and steeped. It also makes a good beverage.

Ok, so I didn't have the stuff to make Root Beer right away. I wanted to to that from scratch (you know, using all of the roots, steeping them, then using that concentrate to flavor the soda). So, I did have some ginger root and lemon, and I did have a Ginger Ale recipe. Well, I did it. My first soda was ginger ale... well... ginger beer.

The recipe was labeled 'ginger beer' but I thought it was some guys way of saying ginger ale... tomato/potato, you know? Well, after the weeks of "carbonation" time and the next week of refigeration, I opened up my mason jar soda. The lids were bulging from the internal pressure.

I would describe my new soda as the ginger and lemon version of Mike's Hard Lemonade, without the alchohol content. Yeah, there was a bit, but only enough to smell it was there. It was no where near alchoholic beveage standard.

But, on the positive side, I still shared this new creation, and got great reviws from co-workers, spouse, and my Danish friend. (though I've not used that recipe since).
